My artwork explores the fleeting beauty of the natural world through ephemeral, site-responsive art created from materials found in nature. Using leaves, branches, flowers, seeds, and other organic elements encountered in parks, neighborhoods, trails, and overlooked edges of the built environment, I create temporary art outdoors, letting place, season, and chance shape each composition.
Photography allows these fleeting moments to be carried forward, and I professionally print my favorite images on canvas, then layer on acrylic paint, adding texture, depth, and dimensionality. By bringing ephemeral outdoor experiences into lasting, accessible form, this work invites people to reflect on their relationship to place, to one another, and to the natural world we share.
As an environmental scientist and educator, my love for nature and enthusiasm for fostering that love in others informs my art practice. Each piece is, in some way, a celebration of the beauty and resilience of nature — and making it is, for me, a practice of active hope and healing.
