I create ephemeral art from materials found in nature — flowers, seeds, stones, bones, whatever is present and available when I am out exploring. I photograph the art before I leave it behind, then print select pieces on canvas and use paint to bring them to life. Each piece is an act of gratitude, and hope.
My first book, "Growing an Edible Landscape" was published in 2024. I also write articles, reports, and poetry on issues related to the environment and well-being. My research focuses on the importance of the human connection with nature for personal, societal, and environmental well-being.
I hold a PhD in Sustainability Education and founded and have led the Community Ecology Institute since 2016. I have taught graduate courses related to sustainability and worked as environmental consultant for 13 years at both global and local levels. Education and consulting continue to be professional interests.
